Next Generation Nebraska

Next Generation Nebraska (NGN) was co-founded by Nebraska State Senator Adam Morfeld. The goal of our digital strategy was to engage millennials in the NGN coalition by submitting their ideas on how to retain and recruit young Nebraskans online. We worked with Senator Morfeld to promote the coalition and gain supporters through his social media platforms, as well as his already established email network.

Social & Email Strategy

Millennials get 61% of political information from Facebook. Considering our target audience, we knew we needed to focused our social strategy around a series of 60-second (or less) videos posted on Facebook and other social outlets. These videos included an introduction to NGN, how someone can get involved with NGN, and a direct ask to submit ideas on an online form. Once produced, the videos were posted on Senator Morfeld’s social platforms, as well as included in several email campaigns. Facebook ads were then deployed to target millennials across Nebraska.

The call-to-action of this campaign was for millennials to submit policy ideas to the NGN committee. Through the strategy above, we were able to collect 494 survey results, as well as spread awareness about the coalition by reaching 106,465 individuals on Facebook, alone. Email addresses were also collected for future NGN outreach and updates.
